Performing Umrah: Step-by-Step
Step 1: Ihram — Entering the Sacred State
* When you reach the *Miqat* (boundary point), make your intention for Umrah.
* Men put on the Ihram; women remain in modest attire.
* Recite **Talbiyah**:
“Labbayk Allahumma labbayk…”
This marks the beginning of your pilgrimage.
Step 2: Tawaf — Circling the Kaaba
* Enter Masjid Al-Haram with your right foot and say the dua.
* Walk around the Kaaba **seven times**, starting from the Black Stone (Hajr-e-Aswad).
* Make dua throughout Tawaf — Allah hears every call.
Step 3: Sa’i — Walking Between Safa and Marwah
* After Tawaf, proceed to Safa.
* Walk between **Safa and Marwah seven times**.
* Reflect on the perseverance of Hajar (AS) as she searched for water for her son Ismail (AS).
Use this time to make personal dua and pour your heart out to Allah.
Step 4: Halq or Taqsir — Completing Your Umrah
Men: Shave (Halq) or trim hair (Taqsir)
Women: Trim only a fingertip length from the end of the hair
Once the hair is cut, your Umrah is complete and you exit Ihram.
Visit Madinah
Travel to **Madinah** and pray in *Masjid an-Nabawi* — one of the holiest mosques in Islam. Send salaam to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and spend peaceful moments in worship.
